When you register for Explorr, we collect:

- Password (stored securely in hashed form)
B. App profile information
If you choose to add it:
- Profile photo/avatar (uploaded and stored via Vercel Blob)
C. Trip and collaboration data
When you use the trip planning features, we may process:
- Trip names, locations, addresses, dates, notes
- Excursions/activities and itinerary details
- Budget and expense entries
- Collaborator/viewer/member relationships for shared trips
- Trip share tokens/links
- Trip documents you upload (e.g. images, PDF, CSV, DOCX, spreadsheets)
- Packing list and related trip planning data
- Internal activity/audit metadata used for security and product integrity
D. Communications and transactional emails
We process your email address and related metadata to send service emails, such as:
- Email verification
- Password reset
- Trip share/invite notifications
- Friend request notifications
- Reminder emails related to trips
- Form submission notifications (where forms are enabled)
E. Usage, device, and log data
We may automatically process limited technical data such as:

- Browser/device information
- Request/response logs and timestamps
- Basic diagnostics and security logs

Explorr uses:
- Strictly necessary cookies (required for core app and security/session behaviour)
- Optional analytics cookies (Google Analytics), only after you opt in via our cookie banner

We use trusted third-party providers to run Explorr, including:
- Vercel (hosting/infrastructure)
- Vercel Blob (file storage for uploaded media/documents)
- MongoDB (application database, via Payload)
- Resend (transactional email delivery)
- Google Analytics (analytics, only when you consent)
- Google Places / Google Maps APIs (location/place enrichment and related features)
- Open-Meteo (weather forecast data)
- Google Vertex AI (Gemini) (AI-powered suggestions/weather context, if enabled)
- RapidAPI / AeroDataBox (flight lookup, if enabled)
These providers process data on our behalf under contractual and technical safeguards.
6) Cookies and analytics
Explorr uses an opt-in cookie consent flow.
Optional analytics (Google Analytics) are loaded only after you accept the analytics category.
If you reject non-essential cookies, analytics tracking is not enabled.
7) Sharing of personal data
We do not sell your personal data.
We may share personal data only:
- With service providers/processors listed above
- With other users you intentionally collaborate with in-app (e.g. shared trips)
- If required by law, regulation, legal process, or to protect rights/safety

Some providers may process data outside your country.
Where applicable, we use appropriate safeguards for international transfers (such as contractual protections and equivalent legal mechanisms).

10) Account deletion and your controls
You can request deletion of your account from within the app.
When deleted, we remove or anonymize personal data unless we must retain certain records for legal, security, fraud-prevention, or compliance reasons.
